Hilltop Packs Raven X 45 liter

As I was getting prepared for my first overnight hike of more than 15 miles in 25 years and after Ben weighed my current pack at 79 oz, He insisted on making me a new pack. Hence the Raven X. Weighs in at 28 oz and with other equipment from Hilltop packs, including water all in at about 22lbs. Hit the trail to the roaring plains wilderness area for a 2 day overnight hike! Can’t say enough about how this pack and all the equipment I got from hilltop packs performed. If you need a light weight pack and want to dial your current equipment in to make an ultra light backpacking experience visit them! You won’t be sorry! Family business started and operated in Greene County!!! I am proud of this pack!!

My Ultra-Lightest Pack

For years I've wanted a Hilltop Packs Raven - the company's flagship UL backpack. I finally got one this summer and now that I've taken it out on a few trips, I can say it's all I'd hoped. I won't waste time on specs here - rather I'll share my experience with my two biggest concerns going in.

1. Durability. I had a custom printed pack made and I was concerned that rough treatment would hurt the look of the pack (or destroy it!). After 3 days on a virtually non-existent overgrown off-trail route, I can confirm the pack is tough as nails. Even in Manzanita so thick it was tearing gear off the pack, after a light cleaning it looked like it did when I got it. Unreal!

2. Comfort. I've never had a frameless pack before and on one trip I ended up adding 8 liters of water (14 lbs.!) to the loadout in case a creek was dry. Although the resulting 40 lbs. were beyond the pack's stated carry capacity it was still fairly comfortable and didn't fail me.

Indispensible for My Trips!

This is such a simple idea but so useful for those who take tech on the trails. When you're already tired and working hard, having a simple and sure way to distinguish between live and dead batteries is wonderful! I now own two sizes!

Bags for Days

I purchased multiple dry bags, 1 stuff sack and 2 food bags. My dry bags fit perfectly inside my **** pack for my ditty bag needs separated neatly for ease of finding and use.
The 2 food bags look exactly what I hoped they would look like, though I have not used them on trail yet I can not wait till I do. This is the same for my stuff sack.
Lead times were as stated for custom printed bags and arrived on time.
Thank you for very high quality gear that I can't wait to put to use on trail in daily activities soon.
