Great pad. But...

I have to be honest. I'm an avid backpacker and high country angler and have purchased many things from HP. But I purchased this pad to remain in my pickup with the intent of using it as a sit pad when I sit on the tailgate or a knee pad when I'm changing the tire pressure in my tires. As with everything I've purchased from HP, this pad delivered and met my high expectations. Very comfortable and rugged. I will be buying another for my backpacking excursions.

Perfect pack back panel, camp sit pad, or tent welcome mat.

I have been typically using a Gossamer Gear folded thinlight as my multi-use foam pad. I cut 2 panels off to use inside my pack against my back and use the remaining 5 as a sit pad while hiking and under my sleeping pad for extra warmth and reducing slippage. The 2 panels are my sit pad around camp, or mat to put items on in my tent vestibule if it's wet. The 2 panels are not great for their intended use though. They're so flimsy they are annoying to get inside the pack against my back, and will sometimes get folded onto themselves or deformed as I stuff things in. This pad will work much better as it is a much more rigid foam, and will also provide more structure for my frameless pack. I am due to replace my folded thinlight as well, and this will give me the option of taking 6 panels instead of 5 of that so I can get 3 doubled up if needed for extra sleeping pad warmth under my torso at a .5oz penalty. Winner product, thank you Hilltop!
